| Handy Man Ministry |
Our Church has a fully stocked trailer with all the tools necessary to do repairs, build wheelchair ramps, disaster relief, etc. |
| Women's Ministry |
We have an active group of women who plan and implement various ministries in the church. Ladies night out is one of these. Also, the Lousie Roberts Circle meets each month on the first Tuesday at 2:00 for fellowship, study and planning. They are sponsering a food drive for the Belmont Community Organization currently and work on different projects throughout the year |
| Mission Trips |
Several in our church are active in mission trips. We are planning a trip to Gulfport Ms. in the fall to work with Baptist men disaster relief |
| Children and Youth |
There is a need for helpers with children and youth. If you have the gift of working with children or youth, this is the place to be. We offer Sunday School, arts activites, field trips and many seasonal events for our children and youth. |
| Visitation Ministry |
We have a faithful group that visits the homebound and those in nursing homes on a regular basis. In addition to these ministries, members call on the pastor and go meet prospects by appointment. |
| Music Ministry |
We are always in need of new singers. Our new Choir Director would be happy for you to visit a practice and see what we do. We have programs for all ages. |
| Outreach Ministry |
Each year we sponser a parade outreach, distributing cocoa and snacks along with our church's Advent Devotional. In addition to that we plan many activites to reach the community. One such outreach is our Ladies Night Out, held the first Friday of every month. This is a night when our ladies fellowship around the table doing all kinds of crafts, from needlepoint to scrapbooking |
| Special Services |
This year we had our first Martin Luther King Day observance in conjunction with New Covenant Baptist Church of Shelby. We also have seasonal worship activites such as Ash Wednesday Services, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc. |
| Community Involvement |
We are active in the Belmont Commuity in several ways: We participate with "Keep Belmont Beautiful" in being a drop point for old phone books being collected for recycling. All ages participate in food drives, clothing drives, etc. benefitting the Belmont Community Organization and the Greater Gaston Baptist Association. Each Christmas we participate in Operation Christmas Child, filling shoe boxes for Samaritan's Purse and sending volunteers to work at the main headquarters in Charlotte. We participate in a variety of community worship events, hosting the 2005 Community Thanksgiving Service and worshipping with the wider community at Easter with the annual cross walk and community sunrise service. We have a group of ladies that gather during the week and make quilted sleeping bags for the homeless. As you can see, there are a variety of ways we reach out to our community and we are always willing to find more ways to serve. |
